Combine Records

Combine Records command combines records of one app to the records of another app. Combine Records command needs to be connected to two input data sources.

Settings

Setting	Description
1. Which field should be included in this append?	Set how to select the fields to be kept while combining the records. INCLUDE FIELDS FROM DATASET Select an app to maintain the field structure. Output is generated with field structure of the selected app. FIELDS TO INCLUDE Include all fields Include all fields of both apps in the output data. Only include shared fields Includes only common fields of both apps in the output data.
2. Review the changes that will be made to each dataset.	Displays the changes in input data while combining records. There is no setting to be done in this.

Behavior of Each Combining Method

This example demonstrates different behaviors on selecting different options in 1. Which field should be included in this append? with the help of an example in which a part of Input Data 1 of existing customer app is different from Input Data 2.

Save the fields of selected app

In case of selecting Input Data 1

Fields of Input Data 1 are only generated.
Person In Charge field which exists only in Input Data 2 is not generated.
In records merged from Input Data 2, Fax Number field (which does not exist in Input Data 2) is left empty.

In case of selecting Input Data 2

Fields of Input Data 2 are only generated
Fax Number field which exists only in Input Data 1 is not generated.
In records merged from Input Data 1, Person In Charge field (which does not exist in Input Data 1) is left empty.

Merge the field of app to be added

In case of selecting "Include all fields"

All the fields of Input Data 1 and Input Data 2 are generated
In records merged from Input Data 1, Person In Charge field(which does not exist in Input Data 1) is left empty.
In records merged from Input Data 2, Fax Number field(which does not exist in Input Data 2) is left empty.

In case of selecting "Only include shared fields"

Fields which exist in Input Data 1 as well as Input Data 2 are generated.
Fax Number field that exists in InputDate1 only is not generated.
Person In Charge field that exists in Input Data 2 only is not generated.
